WoW
There have been a good number of posts on the Real ID system that Blizzard. I will be honest and say that I have not been playing WoW recently and really haven’t been doing any gaming at all. When I first heard about the real id system and the ability to see and chat with people who are on a different server or in a different Blizzard game I thought it was a great idea. I personally haven’t used it and will probably not use it in the future, but I can see the value in it.
The downside to the new system is Blizzard will be rolling the system out to the WoW forums. They have stated that this will reduce trolling as a person’s name will be associated with the post and not just a random character name. I guess this will work but there are some people who will just not care. I really haven’t used the community forums other than to keep up with what has been happening on my server. But a good point was brought up, people can choose to not post on the majority of the forums, but when people are pointed to the forums to help with the resolution of any technical issues that choice is taken away.
According to what I have seen online Blizzard customer support is going to at least slow down on pointing people towards the forums and find another way to help people with technical issues.
Time will tell, I have come close to cancelling my account due to the lack of playing and interest. I may use that as a platform to voice my issues with real id on the forums and maybe in general, I don’t know yet.

As much as I hate to say it I think my time in WoW is finished. I was starting to get excited about some of the changes that were going on in the guild that I am in and thought it might bring the community back to the guild. I had stated to level my hunter, he has made it to level 71 so far but I don’t think he will make level 72. The only thing left for me is to try another server and get a fresh start in a casual guild. The only choice is what server and what guild. I have a couple of ideas but don;t want to go through moving my characters and getting burned on the transfer fees.
With Blizzard releasing the Real ID system today I realized that there was no one in my current guild that I would want to swap email addresses with to be able to communicate with them cross faction/game. Well, there are a couple of people who haven’t been on in a while and I don’t speak with them all that often but I have the majority of them as friends on Facebook.
At least with the advent of Death Knights I won’t have to start at 1.

Recently I was in a Forge of Souls PuG and things were going well. Let me backup, I had been running the instance for the past two days waiting for two pieces of gear to drop. The Bewildering Shoulderpads and the Tower of the Mouldering Corpse finally dropped for my on my 7th or 8th run. So I Figured with the number of badges that I would run it a few more times to be able to purchase another gear upgrade. So flash forward to run number 10 or 11 the group was fairly good, some of the members had a pretty low gear score but I really don’t base my opinions on that. So tanking the first boss Bronjahm I noticed something strange that I hadn’t noticed before. He was being healed….
Something I had never seen happen before. Then the group starts to yell at me for not moving the boss. The only thought running through my head is DPS the orbs, since they appear to be healing the boss. Needless to say after being yelled at and sworn at on the way back to the instance after a prolonged wipe I left the group. Maybe it was the level of gear the group had, maybe it was because people didn’t know the instance, maybe I should have been moving the boss all along. I really can’t answer that. Maybe I will venture into the Forge of Souls again and try to get some more badges.

I recently was pointed towards two articles that are quite fun to read if you have played a tank or a healer in WoW. I have spent a good deal of time in the tank role with a feral Druid and have done a little bit of healing with the same character, but HoT management wasn’t for me.
Here are the two articles:
Hope you enjoy reading them.

I have been checking out some interesting blogs lately that deal with role playing examples and suggestions on content and style. I must say that I have been interested in the idea of role playing a charecter in World of Warcraft. I don’t think I could dive in head first I would need to test the waters a little. Right now my main charecters are on a PvE realm and I don’t believe that there is any role playing currently going on.
I have even gone as far as to start a storyline, with the reading that I have done most stories start with amnesia of some sort just because it makes forming a new story avaliable. The start that I have deals with a confusing situation where the main charecter has his life turned upside down in a second and has to make a new start leaving everything behind. I think it’s a fairly decent start(but then I really don’t know much about role playing) it doesn’t use any cliches or some of the more standard concepts that I have read about.
I am thinking about taking a little bit of time and actually putting all of the ideas together and writing something. As I don’t know anyone who is activly role playing I am not too sure who I can show it to. Who knows how long it will take me to write it up.
