About

The ramblings of a WoW player and Computer Engineer.

Where I have been…

After graduating from High School I moved from Prince Rupert, British Columbia to Winnipeg, Manitoba. I took a job working overnights at Wal-Mart for a period of time, after about a year and a half I decided to move back in with my parents who had just moved to St. Catharines Ontario. It was while working at Telespectrum I decided it was time to move on.

I started college in the fall of 2005 taking Computer Engineering at Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology. After graduating from Niagara College I moved to Toronto to start a new life of fast cars and money. Both of those did not happen.

Instead I started working a midnight shift at a grocery store stocking shelves, the same kind of job that I had just left. It was time to find something different. I went to Staples to have some resumes printed and they had an opening in the technology department. I started with Staples shortly after. Selling computers and extended warranties were my main goals there and it was alright. But it just wasn’t for me. Time to start a new job search.

Attending a large job fair in Toronto that really didn’t have much to offer, I decided the look into the free job fair that was going on at the same time. Much to my surprise the big companies that I was expecting to see at the paid job fair were located here. RIM and IBM are the two that stand out. I spoke with representatives from both companies and submitted my resume. I heard back from Research In Motion shortly afterwards and was told to apply for a position through their web-based Human Resources system.

I am now employed by Research In Motion performing phone based troubleshooting for the BlackBerry Smartphone and software.
